From a very small town in Western, New York with working class parents, Michael Borlaug’s work ethic and drive is unique to his generation. Michael knew early on that is was his own responsibility to be financially independent, fiscally responsible and to plan carefully for the future. This knowledge was Michael’s driving force to succeed. He has been on a journey to grow personally and professionally while supporting his family and giving back to his community.

As a business leader, Michael Borlaug is the CEO of CAPSTONE IT and co-founder of www.TreasureCoastTop100.com. Michael was with Capstone Information Technologies in Rochester, NY for fifteen years. There, he helped to develop the procedures and processes that result in an empathetic and highly responsive team of engineers. The relationships that he developed with clients there because of his personal, empathetic approach to serving the needs of businesses are evident in the growth that the company experienced when he was on the team. Now, as CEO of Capstone IT Florida, he is able to replicate those practices as he builds partnerships with clients on the Treasure Coast and the Palm Beaches.

As a technologist, Michael graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology. He has worked with over 150 businesses and led his team that managed over 4000 devices. With a wide range of understanding of technological business needs, Michael is eager to partner with other business owners to protect their networks so that they can focus on growing their own businesses.

As a professional speaker, Michael has presented at events such as local chambers, associations, educational institutions, and businesses. He is an expert on cyber security. He speaks on practical ways business owners and employees can protect their company from cyber criminals. Other speaking topics include business, sales and marketing, motivational and technical presentations.

In addition to running Capstone IT, he and his family are active volunteers in Martin County. Michael just completed the LEADERship program through the Stuart/Martin Chamber of Commerce as a member of Class 29. He is currently serving on the board of The United Way of Martin County and Helping People Succeed. As a family, the Borlaugs seek volunteer opportunities through Christ Fellowship church to serve the
community.

JP Bourget, was previously Cofounder, Chief Security Officer and Director of Syncurity (https://www.syncurity.net), a Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) Vendor, which was acquired by Swinlane (https://www.swinlane.com). JP has more than 15 years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on improving and automating security operations, devops, and strategic consulting. Prior to co-founding Syncurity, JP was a SIEM consultant helping a global portfolio of clients get more value out of their SIEM and other security investments. He also previously served as an adjunct professor at Rochester Institute of Technology, teaching undergraduate classes in Network Security and Forensics. JP has a MS in Computer Security and Information Assurance and a BS in Information Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology and also has a bunch of those alphabetical things called Certs.

Teacher turned tech marketer, I made an exciting career change to build my family's future in Capstone IT. I have been in the classroom for 11 years and loved that experience for the time I had with my own children in the summer and over breaks and also pouring into other children as they navigated the very interesting world of middle school. I was blessed to work with amazing colleagues and learn new technologies to apply in the classroom and loved teaching world history, opening the minds of 11 year olds to the world outside our community.

IT by building a marketing list, sending direct mail pieces, and making cold calls after school and on weekends. Eventually, I knew that to really grow this business, I needed to be all in and available during the day. So I took the leap and became Capstone IT's marketing manager in June of 2019.

Now, I am responsible for many functions including admin, HR, dispatch and sales and marketing. I have worked on our website, SEO rankings, networking to get the name out, and so many more pieces to make this company successful. What I've learned from this new career move is - 1. That talking to adults all day is better than talking to adolescents all day. 2. That if you know you are marketing and selling a great service or product, the sky is the limit. 3. There is so much room to be creative in a marketing position. 4. I wish someone had told me growing up that to reach my full potential, I could also be something other than a teacher. 5. Building a business to better my family's future, with my husband as my partner is an incredible adventure!
